Sunday Snapshot {Flour Fun!}

Today I pulled out the flour for Rommey. She had a blast! She started out kind of hesitantly and then went all in... literally!

For this picture, I just had the camera in SR mode set to 2 consecutive shots (one without a flash and the second with a flash). I think it captured this "action" shot on the second shot. Cool!

This is fun mom. :-)

Sunday Snapshot {More Exploration}

Well, Rommey continues to be amazed and inspired by everything around her. She loves to explore and really isn't afraid to try new things. That's my 15 1/2 month old. I keep on trying to come up with activities for her and some go better than others. This week there were some particularly successful activities.

She really enjoyed plastic bag finger painting and playing with Oobleck (a compound of corn starch and water). Here are some of the pictures. (I still can't seem to take the  pictures I'd like to with my Fuji FinePix S2550HD camera... these are what I get.)

Sunday Snapshot {Enrichment}

Now that my little girl is considered a toddler, I find myself always looking for things to do with her to both keep her busy and assist in her development. I did a search online for toddler activities and pinned several of them. http://pinterest.com/hsbeavers/ Here are some of the things I've done with her in the last few days.

For Christmas I got her a Discovery Kids tent and tunnel. She hasn't been super interested in playing with it but I thought she might like crawling through the tunnel so I put a stuffed animal in there and encouraged her to crawl through.

I love how this picture turned out.

Here's one of the sensory "bins" I created for her. I just put rice, noodles and blocks into a cooking container. She really liked putting the rice in the "cups" and then shaking the cups and making the rice go all over the place.

Shave cream with finger paint. She still likes putting things in her mouth so I have to watch her carefully each time I try something with her but she definitely liked the shaving cream. She mostly liked putting it in her hands and then squishing them together.

What a mess! (but fun)

Water beads. These things are SUPER tiny so you have to watch little one carefully to make sure she/he doesn't put them in their mouth.

She was tired when we started this which explains why she wouldn't take her thumb out of her mouth. :-)

Playing with water. We started with the water beads and then had to wait for them to get bigger so I decided to let her just play with some water in a dish. Of course, she loved that!
