Sunday Snapshot {Prepping for Easter}

Easter's only a week away so we've started to get ready for it. Today Rommey and I went to Palm Sunday service at church and yesterday we decorated Easter eggs and earlier in the week I made some special mini Cadbury egg filled cookies (which I'll have to make more of before the weekend). I even put together Rommey's Easter basket today. Since she's only 17 months old, she doesn't really need candy and she really doesn't need any toys but I bought her a few things. I'm hoping to take her on an Easter egg hunt next weekend, provided that I can find some place that is hosting one.

Well, here are the pictures for our prep this week.

Here's her basket. She loves watching bubbles so I got some bubbles. She has recently started playing with My Little Ponies when she sees them at playgroup so I bought her one of those. She's not too into Play-Doh yet but I'm sure she will be soon. Also, I thought she'd enjoy sidewalk chalk.

What's left of our decorated Easter eggs. Hard boiled eggs are a favorite around here.

The slightly creepy Easter bunny that was at Walmart the other day.

We tried a new method for decorating eggs this year. It was fun and easy.

Sunday Snapshot {17 Months Old}

This week my daughter turned 17 months old, which, of course, warrants a photo shoot. :-)

I started taking pictures inside but found the lighting to be better outside, of course. We were only outside for a few minutes though. The temperatures were in the 40's.

She's now skilled enough with her walking (which she's been doing since right before she turned 1) that she runs when ever she has the chance.

My husband grabbed the camera from me and made sure to get a few mother/daughter shots as well.

Her growth and development are strong. She understands most of what we tell her (but won't always listen). She says, "f-f-f-f" (for "woof"") when she sees a dog or a picture of a dog. She can say juice and cheese, as well as sit (but hasn't said sit much lately). She doesn't seem to be in too much of a hurry to talk. I guess that when she's ready, she'll be talking non-stop. For now, it's just a lot of babble. Although, she does say, what kind of sounds like "that" when she wants to know what something is or wants something. Her fine motor skills are very good and she also has some pretty solid problem solving skills (right where they should be).

I can't believe that I gave birth to her almost a year and a half ago. She is such a joy and blessing!

Sunday Snapshot {Bathtub Crayons}

So, I got some of those bathtub crayons for my daughter. We don't have a tub so she has to take a shower instead of a bath. As a result, I have to find something to keep her busy in the shower. So, I got the crayons. She LOVES them!

Her masterpiece.

Sweet girl.

This is her tub.
